Laundry tips

When people ask how a professional organizer or household manager can help with laundry, let me tell you. Sometimes I naturally organize here and there during a whole house refresher. During a refresher, whether it be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, I come through your home and do laundry. 

Delicates

I take this seriously. I prefer to turn articles of clothing inside out, wash on cold delicate, and hang dry. I will use a separate garment bag if needed. If the item appears new but needs to be washed and perhaps is a bright red color, I will wash this piece of clothing by itself first. This isn’t my first rodeo. 

Towels

If time permits, I like to grab towels from the kitchen and bathroom and do a laundry load on hot. This ensures you’ll return to folded fresh towels ready to go after your soak in the tub. Nothing is better than having someone wash, fold, and put away your towels…am I right? 

The Usual

And then there’s day-to-day clothes that can be washed on warm with a normal soil level. I check ALL pockets first. Remember that incident with the crayon in the dryer when my son was 7? I do. So yes, I check all the pockets. 

Laundry seems to be a never-ending chore. Just when you think you’re ahead of the game, there’s something else that's tossed into the laundry basket. I’d love to help you with an in-home laundry service! I’m also able to take your dry cleaning to the cleaners as well. While the laundry is running, I’ll tidy your home.
