A new partnership!
I am thrilled to introduce Megan Nelson from Nest with the Nelsons. She is an interior designer who serves the Omaha area. We were able to catch up and chat about how our services, interior design and professional organizing, overlap. If you feel the need for design services, Megan is your girl!
Leigh: Tell us about yourself!
Megan: I am a busy mama of three amazing kiddos. My husband, Matt, and I lead a hectic lifestyle with lots of work, tons of time with the kids, and plenty of time for God mixed in, too!
Leigh: What inspired you to start Nest with the Nelsons?
Megan: When my mom passed away from cancer, it became crystal clear to me that it is imperative to follow your dreams and spend your time wisely. That's when Nest with the Nelsons was born. It combined my passion for home design and helping people, all while providing the flexibility needed for our busy family. Win, win!
Leigh: What services do you offer?
Megan: We offer virtual interior design services, including per-hour packages personalized to you based on your home and project. Our package offerings include the following, along with in-person design time built in:
10-Hour Package: $1,950
20-Hour Package: $3,800
30-Hour Package: $5,700
Leigh: What are your top 3 tips for creating a beautiful home?
Megan:
1. Declutter. This is crucial to actually seeing your home clearly, free from the stress that too much clutter brings.
2. Secure the Staples. Make sure you have all of your bases covered: Every room needs lighting - think table lamps, floor lamps, and overhead lighting, too. Look down: Do you have a rug or cozy carpet underfoot? Do you have a place to set a drink? Is there somewhere to put your feet up? Are your windows covered, or are they naked? All of these are essential to turning a space into a welcoming, relaxing space.
3. Make it Cozy. These finishing touches are often the most important to making your space feel extra inviting. Make sure you have a coordinating throw and pillows to top off your look. Decor should feel curated and collected, varying in sizes and heights, while adding a little something to the overall look and feel of the room. Add in coasters, and make sure books or magazines are within reach for ultimate comfort. Walls should not be overwhelming, but they should have some intrigue to draw your eye toward them - all while setting the mood for a cozy and beautiful space.
Leigh: Why are you partnered with Honeydew Handled?
Megan: Leigh is phenomenal! Her services, her professionalism, and her care for her family, friends, and clients shows brightly. We are so grateful to partner with Leigh, and can't wait to see where this wonderful partnership takes us!
